Dr. Mike Tushla brought Athletics Director, Danny Guzman, to Rotary for an update on fall sports! Did you know Dr. Mike has been the football on field doctor for home and away games for 21 years? Way to go Dr. Mike!

Mr. Guzman reported athletics at Santa Paula High School have great participation. Most of the coaches now are teaching in the Santa Paula Unified School District. Cross Country had to spilt into boys and girls teams due to an overwhelming response. Soccer added a freshman level to the current JV and Varsity levels. Golf, tennis and water polo all have talented and dedicated athletes. Local athletes are representing our Santa Paula community in Universities across the nation. Santa Paula High School won the coveted leather helmet at the 105th game between rivals Santa Paula and Fillmore. There were approximately 2500 in attendance for the game with only 400 tickets sold at the door. Pre-sale tickets were robust. Congratulations Santa Paula High School! Thank you Mr. Guzman for sharing this exciting and great news with our Rotary club. We are certainly Cardinal fans!
